For most home owners, purchasing an elaborate and high tech security system is unnecessary.
You shouldn’t have to spend a fortune for a home security camera system. And a fortune you will spend on most security systems that are typically found in businesses. Home owners only need to purchase cheap security cameras. When I say “cheap” I do not mean as in cheap craftsmanship. I mean affordable.
To get the best deal on purchasing cheap security cameras, consider buying a CCTV system. Most CCTV systems require minimal wiring, if any. They are generally very easy to install and most work with their own provided hand held monitor or they work with your home computer system. This is what makes them so cheap. Most CCTV systems will come with the security camera (sometimes up to 4 different cameras), a receiver if needed and any software necessary to network to your home PC.
Some of these systems are able to record right to your DVR as well so you can watch the footage on your home entertainment system instead of your PC if you wish. Another option is to have your system pointed to show the images on an actual TV monitor. Although the TV monitor seems more outdated these days, it is still an option. Many security systems offer all 4 options of receiving the images: DVR, TV, PC and VCR.
Most of the cheap security cameras have a real time image range of 25-100 feet. This means that the camera is capable of recording images from a certain distance from the camera unit.
Many of these cheap cameras also offer night vision. Of course some systems have better night vision imaging than other models. Along with night vision, some models will specifically advertise they have infra-red LED which makes that model more appealing as a night vision camera.
Also mounted systems will be on the higher end of costs since they are made to withstand the elements.
If you want added security to your home, you should consider purchasing a security camera system that has the added bonus of lights that turn on once motion is detected.
Just how cheap am I talking? You can find cheap security cameras for as low as $79.00. The price will be determined by the image quality. If you can afford just a bit more than $79.00 then I would suggest buying cheap security cameras that offer a higher resolution. The higher the resolution, the clearer the images will be.
